Um, Hello
So its now been 18 days into the new year and Its been really quiet so far, which has been nice. One thing to note is on the 8th I turned 36 years old, quietly I might add. I’m OK with little to no fanfare on my birthday, I don’t need parties and such to celebrate. My perfect birthday (in no particular order) is simply to have a nice meal with friends and loved ones, a really good beer and to make love (repeatedly) to my gorgeous wife. That last one is a no-brainer, but is still necessary for perfection. It was a difficult year at the last, health and general funk issues, I’m not used to dealing with, ruled the last 5 months of 2008. I really just wanted to coast threw the last of the year without being bothered. That being the case I had no wishes this year for either Christmas or my birthday, when asked I simply said gift certificates to BestBuy. This was more to get people of my back. It turned out to be a good thing. On the Monday after my birthday I went to BestBuy and got a 16gig iPhone. I have coveted these devices ever since they came out, being something of an gadget freak. I am not disappointed with it in the least. I would love to hear what apps all of you who have one are using.

What to say
Its been a weird few weeks. I'll simply list the events to make this easier to read.
1. Tense has not been herself. She has been depressed and really out of sorts. I'm a troubleshooter but I cant fix this.
2. Work is really changing and busy, I simply dont want to deal with a PC when I get home.
3. I don't have to tell you that money is tight... I've had to borrow money for the last three months just to make it. I HATE doing that.
The worst is the doctor has found a spot on my grandfathers remaining lung. The cancer has spread to the lymph nodes and there is evidence that it may have invaded other organs. He isn't a candidate for surgery or chemo. We are not sure what the old man will do, he has been given the opportunity by his doctor to try a clinical trial drug that shows promise. He will probably take the drugs. When he passes I will be the head of the table to put it in good southern terms. I have an uncle but he is not in the state and not in good shape himself from a military injury (non combat, he fell from a crows nest in a storm, and broke his back. That's another post sometime.) My grandmother is fairly healthy but has problems herself. I'm not ready for this, I'm just not ready.

I HATE politics. Again I will be voting for the candidate that will cause the least amount of damage in a position of power. I feel I know who will win and Im afraid we are in for a bad few years because of it. That is just my opinion of course. Now this surprised me... Ive always considered myself a conservative but apparently not, well according to this anyway.
